Shelter operations (2019/20 season)

Where: E3 Community Services Inc., 250 Peel Street, Unit B Community Centre

When: Dec. 2, 2019 to April 15, 2020.
Intake occurs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Doors will be locked after intake occurs.
Doors re-open at 7 a.m.
No pre-registration is required.

Amenities for guests include:

  • Washrooms
  • A shower
  • Hygiene products
  • Provided dinner
  • Locked cabinets to store personal effects
  • A fenced private outdoor courtyard
  • A bed for the night
  • A breakfast voucher
  • Guests will be connected with any services they require to assist their journey from unsheltered to housed

When you don’t know where to turn, contact 211 for assistance in finding available services near you. A 211 navigator will help you understand how local services work and which ones are available for what you need.

In-person 211 navigators are available Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00pm at 275 First Street, Collingwood unit 14 on the second floor. (Pizza Hut Plaza behind the Hock Shop)


As a result of COVID-19, Out of The Cold Collingwood will remain open until such time as threats posed by the pandemic have passed.  People experiencing homelessness or at risk of this, continue to receive support through community navigators who can be reached by dialing 211.  For those requiring emergency accommodations, intake for will continue each night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 250 Peel Street in Collingwood.  Guests will then be relocated to alternative locations where self-isolation and physical distancing can be safely practiced.
